Overview

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking to fill the position of Deputy Chief of Mission (P) within its Nigeria Country Office. The role involves ensuring the effective functioning of the Country Office and aligning interventions with national priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Chief of Mission in representing IOM in Nigeria.
• Contribute to strategic direction and operational planning for the Country Office.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and development of country strategies.
• Ensure effective coordination of all programme units and field operations.
• Strengthen compliance systems and internal controls.
• Develop partnerships with donors and government institutions.
• Facilitate coordination between programme and support units.
• Ensure strong monitoring systems and high-quality reporting.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in relevant fields or a university degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in programme management in humanitarian and development contexts.
• Strong background in inter-agency coordination within the UN system.
• Proven leadership experience at a senior level.
• Strong knowledge of programme design and risk management.
• Fluency in English, with knowledge of other UN languages as an advantage.

Benefits

Full-time position with a fixed-term contract of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
