Action Against Hunger (ACF) Nigeria LTD/GTE, a leading global humanitarian organization dedicated to ending world hunger, is seeking to recruit a Deputy Field Coordinator (Programmes) for its operations in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. The organization works to save the lives of malnourished children while improving access to safe water, nutrition services, and sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities.

    Context of the Role

Nigeria continues to face a complex and protracted humanitarian crisis, particularly in the Northeast region, where conflict, displacement, climate shocks, and economic fragility continue to affect millions of people. In Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states, millions remain in need of humanitarian assistance, with many populations living in hard-to-reach and insecure areas.

Within this challenging environment, ACF Nigeria implements multi-sectoral interventions in nutrition, WASH, health, food security, and protection. The Deputy Field Coordinator (Programmes) plays a critical leadership role in ensuring coordinated, high-quality, and effective programme delivery across Borno and Adamawa States.

    Role Overview

The Deputy Field Coordinator (Programmes) supports the Field Coordinator in leading, harmonizing, and overseeing the implementation of all programme activities. 4. Accountability, Protection, and Gender Integration

The position ensures that accountability mechanisms are in place and functional, allowing community feedback to inform programme improvements. The DFC supports the integration of gender and protection considerations across all interventions and ensures compliance with safeguarding and security protocols.

    5. Reporting, Documentation, and Learning

The DFC oversees the preparation of high-quality reports, donor updates, and documentation of lessons learned. The role also supports MEAL processes, ensures proper archiving of project data, and contributes to capitalization and advocacy materials.

    6. External Coordination and Partnerships

The role involves coordination with government agencies, UN bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders. The DFC represents ACF in coordination meetings when delegated and supports the development of MoUs and partnership agreements.
