Overview

GeoVille Information Systems and Data Processing GmbH is seeking a motivated Earth Observation Data Analyst/Scientist to join their dynamic team. The role involves working on large-scale geospatial production workflows using multi-sensor satellite data.

Key Responsibilities

Execute and monitor large-area geospatial workflows processing multi-sensor satellite imagery.
Perform visual interpretation and thematic classification of optical satellite imagery to produce and update land cover maps.
Develop and maintain Python scripts and GDAL-based tools for automating geospatial data processing tasks.
Integrate new processing methods and workflows into existing operational pipelines.
Conduct spatial accuracy assessments, quality checks, and document non-conformances.
Contribute to technical reports and client communications.

Requirements

Proven experience with GIS tools such as QGIS and ArcGIS.
Strong visual interpretation skills for optical satellite imagery.
Familiarity with EO data formats and processing tools like GDAL/OGR.
Confidence working on the command line and in Python.
Experience with containerisation (Docker) and version control systems (GitLab, Bitbucket).
Ability to manage operational deliverables under deadlines.
Strong documentation skills for technical reporting.
