Overview
GeoVille Information Systems and Data Processing GmbH is seeking a motivated Earth Observation Data Analyst/Scientist to join their dynamic team. The role involves working on large-scale geospatial production workflows using multi-sensor satellite data.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and monitor large-area geospatial workflows processing multi-sensor satellite imagery.
- Perform visual interpretation and thematic classification of optical satellite imagery to produce and update land cover maps.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts and GDAL-based tools for automating geospatial data processing tasks.
- Integrate new processing methods and workflows into existing operational pipelines.
- Conduct spatial accuracy assessments, quality checks, and document non-conformances.
- Contribute to technical reports and client communications.
Requirements
- Proven experience with GIS tools such as QGIS and ArcGIS.
- Strong visual interpretation skills for optical satellite imagery.
- Familiarity with EO data formats and processing tools like GDAL/OGR.
- Confidence working on the command line and in Python.
- Experience with containerisation (Docker) and version control systems (GitLab, Bitbucket).
- Ability to manage operational deliverables under deadlines.
- Strong documentation skills for technical reporting.
