This freelance consultancy opportunity offers English-language copy-editing services for publications, reports, and written outputs created by Democracy Reporting International (DRI).

Key Responsibilities

Copy-edit documents for spelling, punctuation, grammar, syntax, and style following DRI's house style.
Enhance content readability for a broad, international audience.
Maintain consistency across documents from multiple authors.
Identify and resolve editorial queries with authors.
Proofread final layouts for publication readiness.
Apply inclusive language checks and maintain stylistic coherence.
Deliver typical assignments such as tracked-changes documents, editorial notes, and final proofs in a timely manner.

Requirements

Native or near-native proficiency in English with strong command of British English.
A minimum of four years of professional copy-editing experience in relevant fields.
Familiarity with DRI's house style and previous experience with international NGOs is advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail and capability to meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with inclusive language guidelines.
Freelancer or self-employed status is required for contractual compliance.
