Job Alert: Enumerator (Part-Time) at Malteser International
Malteser International (MI), the humanitarian arm of the Sovereign Order of Malta, is inviting applications for the position of Enumerator to support its ongoing humanitarian and development programs in Benue State. Operating in Nigeria since 2017, Malteser International focuses on delivering life-saving interventions and long-term recovery support to vulnerable and crisis-affected communities, particularly in underserved and hard-to-reach areas.
This part-time role offers a valuable opportunity for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, data collection, and contributing to impactful humanitarian programs. The Enumerator will play a critical role in supporting field-based monitoring, evaluation, and research activities by gathering accurate and reliable data that informs program design, implementation, and decision-making.
The selected candidate will be responsible for collecting data across assigned project locations using structured tools and methodologies provided by the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team. This includes identifying and engaging respondents who meet specific criteria, administering questionnaires, and accurately recording responses using digital tools such as KOBO Collect. Ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of collected data is a key requirement of the role.
Enumerators will also participate in training sessions and field briefings prior to assignments, carry out data entry where required, and submit completed datasets and tools to supervisors in a timely manner. Additionally, they will be expected to provide feedback on field challenges, highlight any issues encountered during data collection, and contribute insights that may improve program effectiveness.
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a minimum of a Diploma qualification and have at least one year of experience working as an enumerator or in a similar field-based role. Applicants must currently reside within the target community in Benue State and demonstrate strong familiarity with the local context, including the ability to communicate effectively in local dialects.
Malteser International is seeking individuals who exhibit strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and a genuine commitment to community service. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess basic literacy skills (reading and writing), and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Flexibility, resilience under pressure, and prior experience in community volunteering are considered strong advantages.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in humanitarian programming, particularly in monitoring and evaluation processes. It also provides an opportunity to contribute directly to initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of vulnerable populations in Benue State.
