The Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF) is a coordination platform that brings together international NGOs to improve humanitarian response through collaboration, advocacy, and information sharing.

The role is supported by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), a globally recognized NGO working with displaced populations.

📍 Job Details

• Location: Zamfara State, Nigeria
• Contract: 8 months
• Level: NRC Grade 6
• Eligibility: Nigerian nationals only

🎯 Role Summary

You’ll support the Humanitarian Safety Unit (HSU) in Northwest Nigeria by:

• Strengthening safety coordination among NGOs
• Supporting data-driven humanitarian decision-making
• Improving access, preparedness, and security awareness

👉 This is a coordination + analysis + field engagement role in a complex security environment.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

🤝 Coordination & Facilitation

• Organize safety meetings and roundtables
• Promote collaboration among INGOs
• Support joint decision-making

📊 Data & Analysis

• Maintain incident and operations databases
• Produce reports (6Ws, quarterly updates)
• Analyze trends for planning and preparedness

🛡️ Safety & Advisory

• Provide guidance on humanitarian access & safety
• Liaise with government and stakeholders
• Support safety training (HEAT, SSAFE, etc.)

📡 Monitoring & Reporting

• Track security and operational developments
• Share timely updates with leadership
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive data

🎓 Requirements

• 🎓 Degree in:
  • International Relations
  • Humanitarian/Conflict Studies
  • Related field
• 🧠 Experience:
  • 2–3+ years in humanitarian coordination
  • NGO/UN or complex emergency settings
• 💻 Skills:
  • Strong data analysis & reporting
  • MS Word & Excel proficiency
• 🗣️ Language:
  • Fluent English
  • Hausa (strong advantage)
