Bridge Connect Africa Initiative (BCAI) is a non-governmental organization committed to empowering communities across Africa to drive meaningful and sustainable change. Established in August 2018, BCAI works collaboratively with women, young people, and local communities to co-create innovative solutions that promote equity, justice, and sustainable development. Notably, Kano has emerged as a key region for BCAI’s community engagement efforts.
The organization focuses on key thematic areas including Education, Health, Climate Change, Child Protection, Media, and Digital Advocacy. Through these sectors, BCAI aims to improve access to quality education, strengthen healthcare systems, promote climate action, and amplify the voices of underserved populations. Its approach emphasizes advocacy, cross-sector collaboration, and inclusive digital solutions to ensure that community perspectives are central to development efforts in Kano and beyond.
As part of its growing operations, BCAI is currently seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Finance Officer to be based in Kano State, Nigeria. This role is designed for a finance professional who is passionate about accountability, transparency, and impact-driven work within the development sector. Working in Kano provides an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and impactful team.
The Finance Officer will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s financial operations and ensuring efficient resource management. Key responsibilities include overseeing financial management, reporting, and accounting processes, as well as supporting budgeting and grants management. The role also involves handling payroll administration, procurement processes, and contributing to audit preparations and compliance.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain accurate financial records, ensure proper documentation of transactions, and support the management of donor-funded projects and grants. This includes ensuring that all financial activities align with organizational policies and donor requirements. Kano offers a vibrant backdrop for this impactful role.
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required, preferably within the NGO or development sector. Experience managing donor-funded projects and grants is highly desirable.
Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or their equivalents will be considered an added advantage. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial processes effectively in a dynamic work environment.
The application deadline for this position is 15th July 2026. Interested and qualified candidates are required to submit their application by sending a cover letter and CV to recruit@bridgeconnectafrica.org. Applicants must ensure that the subject of their email clearly states “FINANCE OFFICER.”
This opportunity offers a chance to contribute to impactful development work while strengthening financial systems within a mission-driven organization committed to transforming lives across Africa. Indeed, Kano is central to BCAI’s vision for sustainable change in Nigeria.
