    Job Summary

    Forus, an international network empowering civil society for social change, in collaboration with the European Center for Non-for-Profit Law (ECNL), seeks a skilled facilitator to lead the Digital Governance Working Group within the Civil Society Alliances for Digital Empowerment (CADE).

    The facilitator will deliver nine online sessions over 12 months, supporting strategic online engagement, fostering collaboration among civil society organizations (CSOs) across regions, and promoting joint initiatives on digital rights and governance topics including AI, online safety, privacy, and more.

    The role requires strong facilitation skills, experience in digital rights and internet governance, and the ability to promote inclusive, cross-regional dialogue.

    Forus connects 74 National NGO Platforms and 8 Regional Coalitions across Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and the Pacific to promote social change.

    ECNL advances democratic spaces by strengthening civic freedoms and legal protections.

    CADE is an EU-funded initiative aiming to empower civil society in multistakeholder internet governance, emphasizing inclusive participation from the Global South and fostering strategic alliances.

    Key Responsibilities

    Session Facilitation and Support

    • Design and facilitate nine online working group sessions over 12 months
    • Develop session agendas, preparatory materials, and evaluation tools
    • Ensure active participation from Global North and Global South CSOs

    • Promote applied peer learning and practical collaborations
    • Develop detailed follow-up packages including minutes, collaboration maps, and action trackers
    • Monitor participation, ensuring inclusive engagement from diverse stakeholder groups

    Strategic Coordination and Reporting

    • Collaborate with the CADE Project Coordinator to align session content with strategic goals
    • Support the development of an engagement plan for wider dissemination and sustained participation
    • Deliver a comprehensive final report with joint actions, lessons learned, and strategic recommendations
    • Ensure all data and outputs are confidential and comply with participant consent protocols

    Candidate Profile

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience facilitating online, cross-regional, multilingual sessions
    • Proven expertise in digital rights, internet governance, and multistakeholder processes
    • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus

    • Excellent facilitation, moderation, and communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage time and deliver structured outputs
    • Demonstrated ability to foster global minority–majority strategic networks

    • Reliable internet connection and experience with Zoom platform
    • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equitable participation

    Budget & Time Commitment

    • Maximum budget: €10,000 (including VAT and taxes)
    • Estimated commitment: 3-4 days/month (including preparation, facilitation, and documentation)

    • Payment schedule based on deliverables:
    • 35% upon approval of schedule and initial sessions
    • 30% after sessions 4–6 completion
    • 35% after final session and submission of the consolidated report
