Graduate students working in biodiversity research have an exciting opportunity to gain global recognition through the 2026 Graduate Researchers Award, celebrating innovative research that uses biodiversity data to drive scientific discovery and conservation efforts.
Students must be nominated by a national GBIF node manager or head of delegation. Each participating country can nominate up to two candidates.
The award will provide two prizes of €5,000 each, supporting early-career researchers who demonstrate excellence in using data to address global biodiversity challenges.
Students must contact their national GBIF participant office or node manager. The final deadline for national nominations to be submitted to GBIF is 29 May 2026.
