Overview

The Research Grant Schemes (RGS) 2026, offered by the SHAPE-SEA Program, aims to strengthen human rights and peace research across Southeast Asia by providing support for knowledge production and building research capacity among scholars and academics.

Eligibility

• Southeast Asian citizens currently residing in the region
• Categories include:
  • Students (M.A. and PhD): Enrolled in a postgraduate programme at a recognised institution within Southeast Asia.
  • Emerging Scholars: Academics or researchers affiliated with institutions in Southeast Asia.
  • Collaborative projects: The lead researcher must be a Southeast Asian citizen affiliated with a regional institution, with teams of up to three members, all affiliated with Southeast Asian academic or research institutions.
