Overview
The Health Officer (Supply & Logistics) provides technical, operational, and administrative support to UNICEF's health programming in Nigeria, focusing on the effective delivery of essential medicines and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and update situation analysis for supply chain and logistics packages for health programs.
- Research and report on development trends in health commodity value chains.
- Provide technical support to the logistics component of health systems strengthening.
- Support the development, planning, execution, management, and implementation of health programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Additional qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health or related social science field are an advantage.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, or administration.
- Understanding of development and humanitarian work is an asset.
- Emergency experience is an advantage.
- Health supply chain management experience is an advantage.
- Skills: Good analytical and negotiating skills, ability to manage resources, supervise staff, work in a multicultural environment, adaptability, strategic thinking, and knowledge of modern supply chain management.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language or a local language is an asset.
