Overview
The Director at GiveDirectly, Mothers & Babies is a fully remote leadership role focused on developing and scaling a cash transfer program aimed at improving maternal and newborn health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year product strategy and annual goals for the Mothers & Babies initiative.
- Lead the design and iteration of program models ensuring high recipient dignity and operational feasibility.
- Develop scalable delivery and partnership models in collaboration with health organizations, NGOs, and government systems.
- Set the learning agenda including impact measurement and data collection.
- Oversee end-to-end program delivery, ensuring timely cash transfers targeting expectant mothers.
- Build and manage relationships with key partners and digital platforms.
- Create operational playbooks for targeting, enrollment, verification, and payments.
- Drive the evidence narrative translating data into compelling stories for stakeholders.
- Support fundraising efforts by developing materials to attract donor interest.
- Assemble and lead diverse teams across programs, fostering a culture of rapid learning.
- Manage stakeholder alignment and decision-making processes for complex tradeoffs.
Requirements
- Alignment with GD values and dedication to recipient dignity.
- 8+ years of experience in product management, program development, or related leadership roles.
- Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and data-driven problem-solving skills.
- Experience in humanitarian sectors, ideally with digital health or cash transfer programs.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Base Salary: $128,000 (USA) with potential bonuses.
