Overview
The Information Management Officer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining effective Information Management (IM) systems and strategies in line with INTERSOS standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data collection, management, and visualization tools in collaboration with MEAL and Programme teams.
- Ensure regular updates and quality assurance of programme databases while maintaining strict data protection standards.
- Support field teams in conducting assessments by designing surveys, forms, and other data tools.
- Collect and analyze information from clusters, partners, and other humanitarian actors.
- Clean, aggregate, and analyze datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Produce dashboards, reports, and visual materials to support communication and reporting needs.
- Train and build the capacity of staff on data collection and management tools.
- Provide technical guidance to MEAL and Programme teams on IM tools.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Participate in coordination meetings with other organizations and clusters.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform additional IM-related tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
- B.Sc or HND in Information Management, Statistics, Data Analysis, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in information management, preferably within a humanitarian context.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio and Power BI.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with analytical tools (SPSS, STATA, R) is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of GIS tools is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages such as Hausa and Kanuri is an added advantage.
