Overview
The Equality Fund is seeking a highly experienced consultant to support the design and evolution of the "Connect" stream, a strategic initiative aimed at fostering collective action across social movements focused on achieving gender equality.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze past and current cross-movement efforts to identify success factors and barriers
- Develop typologies of collective efforts, including networks, coalitions, and consortia
- Provide case studies of effective funding strategies supporting collective action
- Map potential partners, funders, and allies across movements and sectors
- Create actionable recommendations for evolving the Connect program to strengthen feminist and allied movements globally
- Design criteria and processes for open calls and grant allocations
- Establish metrics for measuring success and ongoing learning
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of collective efforts and cross-movement collaborations in gender justice and social justice
- Broad network within philanthropic and feminist sectors, especially in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and other regions
- Proven experience in program design, grantmaking, and strategic planning
- Strong research, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop actionable strategies aligned with feminist principles
- Experience working with diverse feminist organizations and movements in various regions
- Highly organized, adaptive, and responsive to feedback
Benefits
Contract for 2-3 months, with a budget of up to $70,000 CAD.
