Overview

This position offers the opportunity to lead climate action and sustainable development initiatives across 57 Member Countries, focusing on resilience and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the IsDB Corporate Strategy.
• Lead annual and medium-term planning.
• Establish departmental priorities and performance indicators.
• Guide implementation of climate resilience and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management.
• Lead policy development across resilience and climate action.
• Prepare policy briefs and strategic guidance.
• Oversee climate adaptation and mitigation programmes.
• Strengthen relationships with governments, NGOs, and development partners.
• Represent IsDB at international conferences and high-level forums.
• Monitor departmental performance and oversee budgets.
• Support recruitment and talent development.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Environmental Sciences or a related field.
• 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• 7 years in leadership or supervisory roles.
• 5 years working in a development institution.
• Expertise in climate change, environmental sustainability, and disaster risk management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
