    Overview

    This program offers an opportunity for qualified candidates to work as a Research Officer (World Migration Report) at IOM Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, contributing to the flagship publication that provides insights into global migration trends.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the development of the World Migration Report by supporting the editorial team, drafting sections, and conducting data checks.
    • Enhance WMR digital tools by contributing to updates of the WMR interactive platform.
    • Support global dissemination and outreach through webpage updates, social media content, and event assistance.
    • Strengthen knowledge management by supporting the development of online tools and webinars.
    • Provide technical guidance to regional and country offices on migration research outputs.
    • Produce high-quality research materials including reports and articles.
    • Facilitate internal learning through knowledge-sharing activities to strengthen research capacities.
    • Undertake duty travel as required for WMR promotion and dissemination.

    Requirements

    Education

    • Master’s degree in Migration Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Humanitarian Affairs, Political Science, or related fields with two years of experience, or
    • Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience.

    Experience

    • Experience writing migration-related papers and conducting migration research.
    • Ability to explain complex migration data and collaborate with diverse teams.

    Skills

    • Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Strong drafting abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and under tight timelines.
    • Understanding of migration issues across geographic contexts.
    • Good computer literacy.

    Languages

    • Fluency in English required; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage.
