Overview
Palladium is hiring a Local Government Area Facilitator in Kano, Nigeria, for the Lafiya Programme, which aims to strengthen Nigeria's health systems. This role supports programme implementation at the local government level to improve health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate programme activities across assigned LGAs, including stakeholder advocacy, capacity transfer, and monitoring of supported interventions.
- Provide technical assistance for the development, review, and tracking of Local Government Annual Operational Plans.
- Support coordination committees for primary health care governance, maternal and child health, logistics management, and emergency preparedness.
- Assist with updates to the Human Resources for Health registry and the rollout of Community Based Health Workers.
- Provide mentorship to Ward Development Committees and work with local PHC departments to strengthen facility-level quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper implementation of Direct Facility Financing processes.
- Support data quality activities, participate in monitoring meetings, and document programme results and success stories.
- Strengthen documentation systems within local government PHC departments.
Requirements
- First degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Relevant post-graduation experience in health or public health organizations.
- Experience supporting local government health departments.
- Knowledge of electronic data systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in the local language.
- Experience with FCDO funded programmes is an added advantage.
