Overview

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a Child Protection Specialist to be based in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. This role contributes to strengthening child protection strategies and programs within the Nigeria Delegation.

Key Responsibilities

Support protection teams in identifying and addressing child protection concerns.
Coordinate responses for complex child protection cases.
Support community-based child protection projects.
Compile reports and analyses on child protection interventions.
Monitor trends affecting children across Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States.
Identify training needs and support internal capacity building.
Represent the ICRC in engagements with communities, authorities, and humanitarian stakeholders.

Requirements

University degree in law, humanities, social sciences, or a related field.
At least five years of professional experience.
Three to four years in protection or a related area.
At least one year of direct experience in child protection.
Fluency in English, Hausa, and Kanuri is essential.
Prior experience within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an advantage.
