    Established in 2021, Opportunity Green is a rapidly growing non-profit organization dedicated to combating climate change by building coalitions, supporting climate-vulnerable countries in international negotiations, and developing innovative legal pathways.

    The Climate Diplomacy team focuses on reducing emissions from high-emitting sectors through multilateral negotiations, with a particular emphasis on securing climate finance and advocating at key international forums such as the IMO, ICAO, and FAO.

    Role Overview

    Opportunity Green seeks a Senior Manager to expand its engagement across high-emitting sectors, primarily focusing on aviation and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

    The role involves developing diplomatic advocacy strategies, building international coalitions, and supporting climate-vulnerable countries in negotiations to increase climate ambition and secure equitable outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support efforts to foster international coalitions that accelerate climate action and promote climate justice.
    • Engage with policymakers, civil society, and climate-vulnerable countries to develop and deliver diplomatic advocacy.
    • Lead relationships with ICAO delegations, manage engagement strategies, and prepare technical reports and briefings for international meetings.

    • Collaborate with analytics, advocacy, legal, and communications teams to amplify impact and ensure strategic messaging.
    • Contribute to fundraising efforts through meetings with funders and report writing.
    • Provide leadership and support to the Climate Diplomacy team, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
    • Manage line responsibilities in the future as the role develops.

    Location Options

    • UK: London-based (2 days/week in-office) or remote within the UK, with travel to London twice a month.
    • Belgium: Brussels-based (2 days/week in-office) or remote within Belgium, with bimonthly travel to London.

    Candidate Profile

    Essential Experience

    • Passion for climate change mitigation and international diplomacy.
    • Existing international networks, especially in relevant sectors.
    • Proven experience in multilateral negotiations and policymaker engagement.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaborative skills.

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    • Deep understanding of international climate policy and influence strategies.
    • Extensive networks with policymakers and stakeholders, especially from climate-vulnerable countries.
    • Knowledge of aviation decarbonization and ICAO negotiations.

    • Media engagement experience and public speaking skills.
    • Critical thinking, independence, and creativity.
