Overview
Spark Climate Solutions is seeking a Biological Methane Removal Scientist and a Senior Fellow to lead innovative climate mitigation research in biological methane removal.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead literature review and community engagement on biological methane removal.
- Identify high-impact entry points for Spark’s investment.
- Develop and manage a funding solicitation process.
- Produce assessment reports and scientific documentation.
- Represent Spark at scientific events and build research partnerships.
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on biological methane removal and methanotrophs.
- Build relationships within the research community.
- Contribute to scientific publications, white papers, and program communications.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in microbiology, biochemistry, environmental science, or related field.
- 5+ years of research and professional experience for Scientist; 15+ years for Senior Fellow.
- Expertise in microbial methane cycling, methanotrophs, or related systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to synthesize large bodies of literature.
- Proven leadership in scientific research for Senior Fellow.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific ideas to diverse audiences for Senior Fellow.
Benefits
- Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 annually for Scientist; Hourly rate: $80 – $110 for Senior Fellow.
