    Job Summary

    The Senior Cybersecurity Specialist – Network Security will operate remotely within WFP’s Technology Division, Information Security Unit.

    Under the supervision of the Head of Cybersecurity Operations and the Threat Detection & Response Lead, the incumbent will monitor, investigate, and respond to cyber threats across WFP’s global environment.

    The role involves enhancing detection capabilities, improving security telemetry, and leading network security remediation efforts to reduce organizational risk.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor WFP’s digital environment for potential cyber incidents using tools such as Microsoft security consoles, IR platforms, and Threat Intel sources.
    • Conduct Tier 2/3 investigations on cyber incidents, including DLP incidents, providing technical analysis, incident narratives, and containment recommendations.

    • Support vulnerability management and network security activities, acting as a senior technical point of contact for remediation initiatives.
    • Identify, evaluate, and implement tools and services to establish regular incident detection and response processes.
    • Contribute to SOAR development, automation, and playbooks to streamline routine security operations.

    • Coordinate remediation actions for network security exposures, translating findings into change requests and tracking resolution.
    • Support complex security tickets, improving runbooks and documentation to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Perform other cybersecurity duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Education: University degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
    • Experience: 6-8 years in SIEM, Incident Management, Network Security, or Security Platforms/Tools administration.
    • Skills:
    • Practical experience in incident response, threat analysis, and cybersecurity operations.
    • Hands-on expertise with SIEM, endpoint, identity, and cloud signals.

    • Knowledge of detection engineering, query-based analytics (e.g., KQL).
    • Ability to translate security findings into operational improvements.
    • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
    • Languages: Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese) is desirable.
