Overview
The Junior Advisor – GP Soil Matters position at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Nigeria focuses on supporting soil health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities.
- Contribute to communication, visibility, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management.
- Assist with training, project activity tracking, reporting, and event organization.
- Engage with stakeholders, support media efforts, and manage project documentation.
- Provide technical support for fieldwork and thematic soil fertility activities.
Requirements
- University degree in Soil Sciences, Agricultural Science, Natural Resource Management, Water Management, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
- Previous work experience in soil sciences, agriculture, or food security, including implementing, monitoring, and reporting project activities.
- Strong understanding of soil health, integrated soil fertility management, and national soil information systems.
- Proficiency in IT and computer applications (MS Office, Access, database management).
- Self-motivated, proactive, team-oriented, and problem-solving mindset.
