Overview

The Junior Advisor – GP Soil Matters position at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Nigeria focuses on supporting soil health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities.
Contribute to communication, visibility, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management.
Assist with training, project activity tracking, reporting, and event organization.
Engage with stakeholders, support media efforts, and manage project documentation.
Provide technical support for fieldwork and thematic soil fertility activities.

Requirements

University degree in Soil Sciences, Agricultural Science, Natural Resource Management, Water Management, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
Previous work experience in soil sciences, agriculture, or food security, including implementing, monitoring, and reporting project activities.
Strong understanding of soil health, integrated soil fertility management, and national soil information systems.
Proficiency in IT and computer applications (MS Office, Access, database management).
Self-motivated, proactive, team-oriented, and problem-solving mindset.
