Overview
GIZ is seeking a Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to support the ECOWAS Fund for Regional Stabilization and Development (FRSD) programme in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research, monitoring, and knowledge management activities for programme M&E systems.
- Coordinate with colleagues and partners to compile and analyze programme data.
- Assist with planning and documenting meetings, workshops, and seminars.
- Support short-term experts assigned to the project.
- Assist in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research activities.
- Develop survey tools, conduct field trials, and train field staff.
- Collect and analyze data, contributing expertise in project data evaluation.
- Prepare reports and datasets, maintain project documentation and knowledge management systems.
- Update project information systems and maintain documentation/filing structures.
- Develop terms of reference for M&E assignments.
- Support planning, logistics, and organization of technical workshops.
- Moderate team meetings and support the implementation of project activities.
- Familiarize themselves with M&E requirements, project planning, and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with relevant experts and team members.
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, or related roles.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
- Knowledge of geographic information systems is an advantage.
- Proficiency in French is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn and upgrade skills.
Benefits
Salary according to GIZ Salary Scale – Band 3.
