Job Summary

The LEA Officer will serve as a key liaison between OPay and relevant law enforcement agencies. The role involves managing investigations, handling compliance requests, supporting fraud detection processes, and ensuring effective resolution of disputes and escalations.

The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact between OPay and law enforcement agencies
• Respond to official inquiries, investigations, and compliance requests
• Support fraud investigations and manage account-related escalations
• Collaborate with internal teams including Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Operations
• Maintain accurate records of cases, investigations, and communications
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies
• Prepare detailed reports and provide updates to management
• Monitor suspicious activities and escalate high-risk cases
• Build and maintain relationships with relevant external stakeholders
• Support dispute resolution and recovery processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Law, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or related fields
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in compliance, fraud investigation, or related roles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel and Word)
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in fintech, banking, or financial services
• Knowledge of fraud management and investigation processes
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks
• Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
