Job Opportunity: Logistics Assistant at Malaria Consortium Nigeria

Malaria Consortium Nigeria is actively working to reduce the burden of malaria across the country by partnering with the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders. Through major initiatives such as Support to the National Malaria Control Programme (SuNMaP), NetWorks, and MAPS, the organization continues to strengthen malaria prevention and treatment efforts nationwide.

The organization is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Logistics Assistant in Niger State. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient management and distribution of malaria commodities, particularly Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) medicines and tools at the Central Medical Stores.

The Logistics Assistant will support the Supply Chain Officer and collaborate closely with the State Logistics Management Coordination Unit (LMCU). The role focuses on maintaining an effective logistics and inventory control system, ensuring that all SMC drugs and related commodities are properly handled, tracked, and distributed.

Key responsibilities include assisting in program implementation, conducting pick-and-pack operations for medicines and materials ahead of each SMC cycle, and managing the sorting, counting, and documentation of returned commodities. The role also involves verifying stock during receipt and dispatch, ensuring proper documentation such as delivery notes and waybills, and supporting post-distribution reconciliation processes.

In addition, the Logistics Assistant will monitor commodity deliveries, report discrepancies, support monthly stock assessments, and coordinate reverse logistics from health facilities back to the central store. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

To be eligible, candidates must possess at least an SSCE or National Diploma, with a minimum of one year of experience in commodity logistics or supply chain management. Applicants should be computer literate and currently working in or familiar with the Central Medical Store in Niger State. The role also requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to meet tight deadlines, including working beyond regular hours when necessary.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to public health initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain operations within a reputable international organization.
