    Assmang Proprietary Limited, through its Khumani Mine operation, is inviting applications from highly skilled, motivated, and dedicated professionals for the position of Manager Information Technology.

    The mine is situated approximately 29 km from Kathu along the N14 route in the Southern Kalahari and forms part of Assmang’s iron ore operations alongside Beeshoek Mine.

    The successful candidate will join a high-performing mining environment focused on operational excellence, innovation, and safety.

    Position Overview

    The successful candidate will lead and manage all Information Technology services across the company’s Iron Ore Operations, ensuring secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology solutions that support operational efficiency and long-term business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    The appointed candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing:

    IT Infrastructure & Operations

    • Managing enterprise-wide IT infrastructure operations
    • Ensuring stable and secure technology systems across operations
    • Overseeing cloud support and migration strategies

    Cyber Security & Information Protection

    • Leading cybersecurity programs and threat prevention initiatives
    • Managing data privacy protocols and data breach response systems
    • Ensuring secure enterprise information governance

    Business Systems & Technology Management

    • Supporting enterprise business systems and applications
    • Managing ERP systems and communication technologies
    • Overseeing technology asset lifecycle management

    Business Continuity & Risk Management

    • Disaster recovery planning and implementation
    • Business continuity management
    • Safety, health, environment and risk compliance (SHERO)

    Financial & Vendor Management

    • Managing operational and capital budgets
    • Vendor management and service provider coordination
    • Consumables and inventory management

    Leadership & Innovation

    • Leading IT teams and performance management
    • Driving technology innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Supporting operational efficiency through digital transformation

    Required Qualifications

    Applicants should possess:

    • Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
    • Postgraduate qualification (Preferred)
    • ITIL Certification (Preferred)
    • Project Management qualification (Preferred)
    • Cyber Security Certification (Preferred)

    Preferred professional certifications include:

    • ITIL
    • CISSP
    • ISM
    • Microsoft 365 Certifications
    • Aruba/HP Certifications

    Experience Requirements

    Candidates should have:

    • Minimum 8 years experience in Information Technology
    • Minimum 5 years management experience
    • Experience working within mining, heavy industry, or similar operational environments
    • Experience managing cybersecurity programmes

    • Experience managing cloud support or cloud migration projects
    • Experience overseeing technology infrastructure operations
    • Experience managing operational and capital budgets
    • Experience working with external vendors and service providers
