Overview

MarAlliance is seeking an experienced Communications & Marketing Coordinator to lead storytelling, digital communications, and marketing initiatives. This remote, full-time role focuses on elevating the organization’s conservation efforts, research, and expedition outcomes by translating scientific research and community impacts into compelling narratives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement global and region-specific communication strategies.
Translate marine science and conservation outcomes into engaging narratives for donors and partners.
Produce content for campaigns, newsletters, blogs, social media, and websites.
Support digital fundraising campaigns, appeals, and donor journeys.
Interpret research outputs into accessible communication materials and design promotional assets.
Maintain and update website content, social media platforms, and email newsletters.
Manage media relations and external communication partnerships.
Track communication performance using analytics tools and prepare performance reports.
Provide communications support for expeditions, fundraising campaigns, events, and advocacy initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.
5+ years of experience in digital communications and content production.
Excellent writing, editing, and content creation skills.
CRM experience with Salesforce or similar platforms.
Expertise in SEO, social media, email marketing, and digital storytelling.
Design skills (Canva required; Adobe assets advantageous).
Strong interest in marine conservation and multicultural environments.
