    Nutrition International is seeking a skilled Information Management & Reporting Officer (IMRO) to support the implementation and monitoring of the NOURISH Investment, a major maternal nutrition initiative across Africa. This full-time hybrid role is based in Nairobi, Kenya, offering an opportunity to contribute to large-scale nutrition programs that aim to improve maternal health outcomes across the continent.

The organization works with governments, donors, and development partners to design and implement programs that improve nutrition outcomes for vulnerable populations.

    About the NOURISH Investment

    The NOURISH Investment (Nurture the ecosystem, Optimize the market, Unlock financing, Reinforce ANC platforms, Integrate and Scale MMS and Calcium for Healthy Futures) is a multi-country initiative designed to strengthen maternal nutrition platforms across Africa.

    The program focuses on the transition from Iron Folic Acid (IFA) supplementation to Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) and expanded access to calcium supplements for pregnant women.

    Key objectives of the initiative include:

    • Reaching at least 4 million women with MMS supplementation
    • Supporting eight African countries with technical assistance
    • Strengthening regional markets and supporting at least one manufacturer
    • Establishing a pooled procurement mechanism for supplements
    • Mobilizing $54.4 million in financing to support program scale-up
    • Supporting two countries in integrating calcium supplementation
    • Promoting regional advocacy and policy engagement

    As the lead partner of the consortium, Nutrition International provides regional coordination, technical leadership, and guidance to strengthen maternal nutrition data systems and improve decision-making.

    Role Overview

    The Information Management & Reporting Officer (IMRO) plays a critical role in managing data, reporting systems, and evidence generation for the NOURISH Investment.

    Working under the technical guidance of the MEAL Advisor (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning), the IMRO ensures that program data is:

    • Well-governed
    • High-quality and reliable
    • Accessible and interoperable
    • Actionable for decision-making

    The role also involves building data pipelines, maintaining dashboards, producing analytical products, and supporting knowledge management across participating countries.

    The IMRO works closely with Technical Assistance Partners (TAPs) to produce timely reports, insights, and dashboards that support program monitoring and accountability.

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Management and Systems Support

    The IMRO supports the collection, validation, and analysis of routine health data across multiple systems.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Cleaning and validating data from platforms such as DHIS2, HMIS, LMIS, and eCHIS
    • Maintaining standardized monitoring tools and indicator sheets
    • Tracking KPI data completeness and identifying reporting gaps
    • Supporting survey implementation through tool versioning and quality checks
    • Ensuring data alignment with national reporting frameworks

    Dashboard Development and Analytics

    A major aspect of the role involves developing and maintaining data visualization tools to support real-time program monitoring.

    Key tasks include:

    • Managing grant-level dashboards and analytics systems
    • Building dynamic visualizations using Power BI, DHIS2, and Tableau
    • Producing trend analyses, summary tables, and analytical briefs
    • Ensuring dashboards provide actionable insights for partners
    • Including quality indicators such as confidence markers and completeness flags

    Reporting, Documentation and Data Storytelling

    The IMRO is responsible for transforming complex data into clear and engaging reports that inform stakeholders and partners.

    Core deliverables include:

    • Quarterly and annual performance reports
    • Data-driven narratives and program summaries
    • Infographics and visual insights for diverse audiences
    • Slide decks and briefing materials for leadership and partners
    • Data packs for program reviews and learning sessions

    Quality Assurance and Learning Support

    The position contributes to strengthening program quality through systematic data reviews and cross-country learning.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Conducting data quality reviews and verification checks
    • Supporting follow-up with technical partners to resolve data issues
    • Preparing analytics for cross-country coordination meetings
    • Maintaining a structured SharePoint repository with version control
    • Producing Data Quality Assessment (DQA) reports with corrective action tracking

    Knowledge Management and Documentation

    The IMRO helps operationalize the program’s learning strategy and ensure knowledge sharing across countries.

    Key activities include:

    • Developing an operational evidence and learning calendar
    • Mapping learning questions to data sources and analysis outputs
    • Documenting lessons learned, case studies, and system improvements
    • Producing learning briefs, technical guides, and program documentation

    Education and Experience Requirements

    Candidates should possess strong expertise in information management, monitoring systems, and data analytics within international development contexts.

    Minimum qualifications include:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Public Health, Data Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field
    • Master’s degree preferred in a relevant discipline
    • 5–7 years of professional experience in information management, MEAL, or data systems
    • Experience working in global health, nutrition, or international development programs
    • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements

    Preferred technical expertise includes:

    • Experience with DHIS2, HMIS, LMIS, and eCHIS systems
    • Dashboard development using Power BI or Tableau
    • Data quality assessment and results-based management frameworks
    • Survey data tools such as ODK, KoBoToolbox, or CommCare
    • Knowledge of SQL, R, or Python for data analysis and ETL processes
    • Exposure to GIS mapping tools such as QGIS or ArcGIS
