    Overview

    The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is offering an Associate Communications Officer position based at its Secretariat in Vienna. This role is open under a secondment arrangement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Managing and updating the OSCE public website using a content management system.
    • Coordinating with web developers to ensure functionality and user experience.
    • Supporting internal contributors with guidance, troubleshooting, and training.
    • Ensuring adherence to editorial standards and communication policies.
    • Developing and distributing multimedia content, including written articles and visuals.
    • Supporting communication efforts for events, conferences, and institutional initiatives.
    • Collaborating with field operations and institutions to maintain consistent messaging.
    • Assisting with additional communication duties as required.

    Requirements

    • A second-level university degree in communications, journalism, political science, international relations, or a related field; or a first-level degree with additional relevant professional experience.
    • At least two years of relevant experience (or four years with a first-level degree).
    • Proven experience in digital communications, including social media and website management.
    • Strong writing, editing, and content production skills.
    • Experience in international organizations, NGOs, or journalism is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal.
    • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; knowledge of another OSCE official language is considered an asset.
    • Strong analytical thinking and political awareness.
    • Demonstrated commitment to gender sensitivity and inclusivity.
    • Ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural teams.
    • Proficiency in standard computer applications, including Microsoft tools.

    Benefits

    This role is subject to the approval of the 2026 Unified Budget and is a secondment position, meaning all associated costs, including salary and benefits, must be covered by the candidate’s national authority.
