Overview

Friends of the Earth is seeking passionate and dedicated professionals to join their Oceans & Vessels team as part-time campaigners focused on advancing environmental justice efforts related to port communities and maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Community Engagement and Collaboration: Support outreach, coordinate engagements with community partners, and assist with planning events.
• Data Management and Campaign Support: Maintain databases, track data from events, and support multimedia project content creation.
• Research and Technical Assistance: Assist with presentations and support technical assistance to community partners.
• Policy and Communications Support: Liaise with legislators and assist with outreach for campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years relevant experience
• Background in public health, environmental studies, nonprofit, or government sectors preferred
• Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms and productivity tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and travel periodically within specified regions
