Principal Product Manager (XDR & Exposure Management) - Security Solutions @Elastic

Overview

Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data at scale. The Principal Product Manager role focuses on owning XDR and the exposure and vulnerability capabilities within Elastic Security.

Key Responsibilities

• Own XDR strategy and delivery across detection and response domains including endpoint, cloud, identity, and network.
• Lead the expansion into exposure and vulnerability management features.
• Define the integration between XDR, exposure, and adjacent surfaces like attack surface and cloud posture.
• Collaborate with the Entity Analytics team to prioritize exposure based on criticality.
• Act as the product voice with senior customer stakeholders, providing roadmap direction.
• Understand the competitive landscape and guide differentiated product direction.
• Work with engineering leads to write clear, actionable requirements.
• Create artifacts for internal and customer visibility without requiring meetings.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of product management experience, with a minimum of 4 years in security or B2B enterprise software.
• Hands-on knowledge of XDR, EDR, SIEM, and security operations.
• Understanding of exposure and vulnerability management.
• Comprehension of analytics and data science techniques related to detection.
• Technical credibility and capability to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
• Executive presence when engaging with C-suite and VP-level stakeholders.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Adept at utilizing AI tools for research and delivery.
• Experience leading in a remote-first environment.
• Flexible working style and ability to adapt to different team needs.
