Overview

Brex is seeking a Product and Privacy Counsel who will play a critical role in navigating the complex regulatory landscape at the intersection of financial services and technology. This position involves scaling Brex's privacy program and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory developments affecting its products.

Key Responsibilities

• Scale Data Privacy and Security Programs by collaborating with engineering and business teams.
• Implement Global Privacy Compliance processes, adhering to domestic and international regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
• Negotiate Data-Related Contracts focusing on data protection and sharing, safeguarding Brex's interests.
• Provide Product and Regulatory Advice across all products from design to market entry.
• Represent Brex externally with financial partners and regulatory bodies.
• Integrate Innovation & Compliance while assessing and mitigating risks.
• Manage Outside Counsel for regulatory, privacy, and data matters.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in law firms, technology, and fintech companies with a focus on privacy-related and financial regulatory issues.
• Deep understanding of CCPA, GDPR, and financial regulatory regulations.
• Exceptional judgment and integrity, with a product-minded approach to lawyering.
• Entrepreneurial mindset suitable for fast-paced environments.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable guidance.
• Strong project management skills for time-sensitive projects.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this role is $220,000 - $270,000 USD, with starting pay depending on various factors. Additional compensation may include equity and other forms of remuneration.

Location

This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week.
