Brex is the intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster. The Product and Privacy Counsel will help navigate the complex regulatory landscape intersecting financial services and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Scale Data Privacy and Security Programs by working with engineering and business teams to enhance data security, access, and privacy programs.
- Implement Global Privacy Compliance by developing processes for adherence to domestic and international privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
- Negotiate Data-Related Contracts, focusing on data protection and legalities to safeguard Brex's interests.
- Provide Product and Regulatory Advice for all products, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
- Represent Brex Externally with financial partners and regulatory bodies.
- Integrate Innovation & Compliance by identifying opportunities within regulatory frameworks.
- Manage Outside Counsel for regulatory, privacy, and data matters.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in law firms and technology/fintech companies, particularly on privacy-related and financial regulatory issues.
- Deep understanding of CCPA, GDPR, and financial regulations.
- Exceptional judgment, integrity, and a product-minded approach to lawyering.
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple initiatives in dynamic environments.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
Benefits
Up to four weeks of fully remote work per year. Base salary ranges from $189,000 - $230,000, with additional compensation depending on location, skills, and experience.
Location
This role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days in the Salt Lake City office per week.
