The role of Product and Privacy Counsel at Brex involves navigating the regulatory landscape at the intersection of financial services and technology. This position is crucial for scaling the privacy program and advising cross-functional teams to protect and advance Brex’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Scale Data Privacy and Security Programs by collaborating with engineering and business teams.
• Implement Global Privacy Compliance processes for adherence to domestic and international regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
• Negotiate Data-Related Contracts, focusing on data protection and legalities.
• Provide Product and Regulatory Advice, ensuring compliance across products.
• Represent Brex externally with financial partners and regulatory bodies.
• Integrate Innovation & Compliance by identifying opportunities within regulatory frameworks.
• Manage Outside Counsel effectively for privacy and regulatory matters.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in law firms and technology/fintech companies, focusing on privacy and financial regulations.
• Deep understanding of CCPA, GDPR, and financial regulatory regulations.
• Exceptional judgment and integrity with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong project management skills to handle multiple initiatives.
• An accredited J.D. and active state bar admission.

Benefits

The compensation range for this role is $220,000 - $270,000 USD, with possible equity and additional compensation forms.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in the United States, requiring a minimum of three days in the office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with the flexibility to work remotely up to four weeks per year.
