    Job Location: Remote (desirable locations include English-speaking African countries; London candidates must co-work from office 3 days/week)

    About the Role

    LEEP is seeking a passionate and dynamic Program Manager to lead and support its international paint elimination programs.

    This role involves managing the full spectrum of program activities, including conducting paint studies, supporting government policy implementation, engaging manufacturers, and building strategic partnerships across the globe.

    The successful candidate will work remotely, with a focus on English-speaking African countries, and possibly other low- and middle-income countries, to eliminate childhood lead poisoning caused by lead paint and other sources.

    Key Responsibilities

    Government Engagement and Policy Advocacy (30%)

    • Collaborate with government officials to introduce and enforce lead paint regulations
    • Maintain ongoing communication with policy-makers across various ministries

    • Prepare advocacy materials and educational resources
    • Participate in government meetings and stakeholder workshops
    • Assist in project planning and provide expert feedback

    Industry and Manufacturer Support (30%)

    • Engage with paint manufacturers of all sizes to promote lead phase-out
    • Support manufacturers with technical advice and solutions for non-lead raw materials
    • Collaborate with LEEP’s paint technologist to develop feasible industry solutions

    Research, Data Collection, and Reporting (10%)

    • Conduct paint studies including sample collection, lab testing, and data analysis
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and literature reviews to inform program strategies

    Strategy and Program Development (10%)

    • Design project plans aligned with LEEP’s goals
    • Identify and troubleshoot program challenges with innovative solutions
    • Share learnings and continuously improve program effectiveness

    Partnership Development and Management (5%)

    • Recruit local consultants and build partnerships with organizations in focus countries
    • Manage relationships to ensure program success

    Program Coordination and Team Collaboration (10%)

    • Participate in weekly team calls, meetings, and one-on-one sessions
    • Support the development of program content, webinars, and internal processes
    • Contribute to other organizational tasks as needed

    Candidate Profile

    Essential Skills and Attributes

    • Passionate about eliminating childhood lead poisoning and committed to impactful change
    • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English
    • Adaptive, enterprising, and capable of managing multiple priorities

    • Creative problem-solver comfortable working independently in a remote environment
    • Willing to travel 8-12 weeks annually
    • Full professional proficiency in English; proficiency in other languages (French, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic) is a plus
    • Experience working or living in low- and middle-income countries is advantageous
