Project Coordinator – ENSAND Project (GAIN)
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), a leading international organization focused on improving nutrition and food systems, is currently recruiting a Project Coordinator for the Enhancing Access to Safe and Nutritious Diets (ENSAND) project in Nigeria. The position is based in Kaduna State, with implementation activities extending to Kano State.
GAIN works to address global malnutrition by improving access to healthier diets, strengthening food systems, and supporting evidence-based nutrition interventions. Through the ENSAND project, GAIN aims to enhance access to safe and nutritious diets while improving coordination between partners, government stakeholders, and implementing teams at state level.
Role Overview
The Project Coordinator will provide overall field coordination and performance management for ENSAND project activities across Kaduna and Kano States. The role serves as a key link between implementing partners, state-level teams, and government stakeholders to ensure smooth communication, technical alignment, and operational efficiency.
The coordinator will also ensure that all project activities are implemented in line with approved workplans, technical standards, and donor requirements while supporting effective monitoring and reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will oversee day-to-day project implementation, ensuring timely execution of activities across both states. The role involves coordinating with partners and stakeholders to maintain alignment with project objectives and resolve operational challenges.
The incumbent will support performance tracking, ensure quality assurance of project outputs, and contribute to regular reporting and documentation. The role also includes facilitating stakeholder engagement meetings, supporting adaptive management, and ensuring that project interventions remain responsive to field realities.
In addition, the coordinator will provide technical and operational support to field teams, promote accountability, and strengthen collaboration between government agencies and implementing partners.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in project coordination or management within the development or humanitarian sector, preferably in nutrition, food security, or public health programmes.
Strong experience in multi-stakeholder coordination, government engagement, and field-level project implementation is required. Applicants should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage complex field operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience with monitoring and evaluation systems will be an added advantage. The ability to work effectively in multicultural and decentralized environments is essential.
Remuneration
The position offers a competitive annual salary of NGN 14,550,552.
