Prospera International is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Advocacy and Communications to lead its global advocacy, public affairs, and communications portfolio. This senior leadership role shapes how Prospera engages in policy and funding spaces, strengthens the organization’s collective voice, and influences narratives to mobilize resources.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement integrated Advocacy, Communications, and Research strategies.
Advise senior leadership on public positioning, policy engagement, and communications.
Lead the design and implementation of high-impact advocacy initiatives.
Oversee media relations, digital engagement, brand positioning, and content strategy.
Translate research findings into accessible advocacy and communications products.
Lead, mentor, and manage the Advocacy, Research, and Communications team.
Establish performance indicators for advocacy reach, influence, and impact.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8–10 years of experience in advocacy, public affairs, or strategic communications in the nonprofit or social justice sector.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing and leading teams.
Strong knowledge of feminist philanthropy and development cooperation.
Demonstrated experience influencing funders’ policies and practices.
Proven track record of leading integrated advocacy, research, and communications strategies.
Excellent writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
Fluency in English; Spanish or French are an asset.
Ability to navigate complex political and cultural contexts diplomatically.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%.
