The role is part of a broader five-year initiative designed to reduce structural barriers to financial inclusion and expand sustainable livelihood opportunities for disadvantaged young people.
The programme places strong emphasis on agriculture as a key economic driver in Kenya, while also addressing persistent inequalities affecting youth and women participation in agricultural value chains.
WEL is implementing a long-term development programme focused on improving access to financial services, markets, and resources for young people engaged in agriculture. The Regional Coordinator position is designed to contribute to long-term structural change in Kenya’s agricultural and financial inclusion landscape. By strengthening SACCOs, improving access to financial services, and promoting gender-responsive programming, the role supports broader national and regional development goals.
The position also reinforces WEL’s commitment to empowering young people, particularly women, to participate meaningfully in economic systems and agricultural value chains.
