Yiaga Africa, a non-governmental and non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing democratic governance, electoral integrity, and civic participation in Nigeria, is inviting proposals for the Conduct of a Longitudinal Poll on Voting Intentions and Motivations ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
This opportunity falls under Knowledge Management and Learning and is based in Abuja, Nigeria. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
As part of its commitment to evidence-based electoral reform and citizen engagement, Yiaga Africa aims to generate longitudinal data tracking voter intentions, motivations, attitudes, and participation patterns over time. This initiative builds on the need to better understand the factors influencing voter turnout, which stood at approximately 27.1% during the 2023 General Elections.
Qualified research firms are invited to design and implement the next phase of the National Voter Intention Survey (NVIS III) and subsequent polling rounds leading up to 2027. The selected contractor will be responsible for conducting a nationally representative longitudinal panel survey covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Key objectives include tracking trends in voter behaviour, assessing the impact of political and socio-economic factors on electoral participation, and identifying key drivers of voter turnout using frameworks such as the AIR (Autonomy, Inducement, Responsibility) model. The study will also ensure comparability with previous NVIS findings to enable trend analysis across election cycles.
Expected deliverables include an inception report, survey instruments, pilot survey results, cleaned datasets, analytical reports for each wave, advocacy briefs, and a final consolidated report. The contractor will also present findings to Yiaga Africa and relevant stakeholders after each survey phase.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate proven experience in conducting nationwide public opinion surveys in Nigeria, managing longitudinal or panel studies, and performing advanced statistical analysis. Strong familiarity with electoral research, democratic governance, and policy-oriented reporting is essential.
Interested firms are required to submit their applications through the official platform and ensure all required documentation is included. Only applications submitted in the specified format will be considered, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
