Senior Data Analyst @Instacart

Overview

Instacart is seeking a highly skilled and intellectually curious Senior Data Analyst to drive innovation at the intersection of systems, analytics, and business strategy. This remote role can be performed from any U.S. state, except California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into scalable data models while asking the right questions and mining insights.
• Transform ambiguous ideas into well-defined, high-impact projects with clear deliverables.
• Design and automate dashboards, models, and reporting systems to guide long-term growth strategies.
• Build and maintain data products to support the Revenue Accounting organization, embedding revenue recognition logic into financial data models.
• Apply compliance-first design principles to support SOX, audit readiness, and data governance standards.
• Implement validation, monitoring, and reconciliation frameworks to ensure data integrity.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and system enhancement.
• Utilize cutting-edge AI technologies to improve financial data modeling and analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years (7+ preferred) of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering roles.
• Strong SQL and cloud data fundamentals with experience in Snowflake, dbt, and BI tools (Mode, Looker, Tableau, etc.).
• Experience building complex data pipelines focusing on accuracy, compliance, and traceability.
• Familiarity with financial data structures, accounting processes, and enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday, Salesforce).
• Strong communication skills for engaging effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Benefits

Instacart provides highly competitive compensation and benefits. The base pay range for this role varies by location:

• $144,000 — $152,000 USD for CO, DE, HI, IL, ME, MD, MA, NH, OR, PA, RI, TX, VT, VA, DC.
• $131,000 — $138,000 USD for other states.
