Senior React Native Engineer @Blockchain

Overview

Blockchain is seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to evolve its mobile architecture into a modular, multiplatform system. This role involves enabling rapid development of new consumer apps by building reusable components from the existing stack and delivering high-quality React Native applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable React Native applications using shared modules from mobile and backend platforms.
• Drive the architecture of a modular, reusable system for rapid assembly of new apps from core building blocks.
• Define and enforce clear contracts and boundaries between modules for flexibility and maintainability.
• Lead complex projects from design to delivery, collaborating across multiple teams.
• Translate ambiguous product ideas into structured technical plans.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance development speed while ensuring standards for security and performance.
• Review and refine AI-generated code for production standards.
• Enhance shared UI systems and developer tools for improved team velocity.
• Own the quality and reliability of systems built, including observability in production.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to code reviews.
• Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Mobile teams for cohesive user experiences.
• Support release processes, app store deployments, and post-launch improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with strong hands-on experience in React Native.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern mobile development practices.
• Experience building production-grade mobile applications at scale.
• Understanding of mobile architecture and scalable design patterns.
• Experience owning features or systems from design to production.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make technical decisions autonomously.
• Experience integrating complex backend systems into mobile apps.
• Strong standards for code quality and ability to guide other engineers.
• Experience enhancing performance and developer experience in mobile applications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, or Java).
• Experience in designing cross-platform or shared architecture systems.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency, wallets, or financial applications.
• Experience with third-party service integration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Knowledge of secure key management and authentication flows.
