Senior Software Engineer @Fivetran

Overview

Fivetran is focused on making access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. They support organizations in automating data movement and building a trusted foundation for analytics and AI. The role is for a Senior Software Engineer who will develop enterprise-grade software for sophisticated customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement features and performance improvements for scalable distributed data pipelines on the cloud.
• Develop, maintain, and test code.
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with peers, product managers, and customer support.
• Understand and resolve performance and scalability challenges.
• Participate in on-call rotation and in the hiring process.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Enhance the reliability and security of Fivetran's data infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience in the software industry.
• Experience with distributed systems and designing reusable libraries.
• Ability to write well-structured and performant code.
• Experience in code reviews, design, troubleshooting and testing.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C++, C#.
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, K8s).
• Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Buildkite.
• Knowledge of AI tools and observability tools (New Relic/Grafana) is a plus.

Location

This is a hybrid position based out of the Oakland office, requiring two days in the office each week.
