Senior Software Engineer, Convert (Backend/Infra) @Webflow

Overview

Webflow is looking for a backend-leaning Senior Software Engineer to join their Convert team. The role is remote-first and offers an opportunity to build infrastructure that powers a recommendations platform, using technologies like Python and TypeScript/Node.js.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed backend systems for recommendations and AI workflow execution.
• Own and improve the infrastructure, including AWS and Kubernetes, focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Enhance system resilience by designing for failure and improving recovery strategies.
• Optimize service/API boundaries and MongoDB data models for recommendations.
• Utilize AI tooling to increase system reliability.
• Collaborate with product engineers and mentor team members on backend practices.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in building and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong skills in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, AWS, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
• Business-level English fluency.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and mentor junior engineers.
