Senior Staff Software Engineer @Fivetran

Overview

Fivetran is seeking a collaborative individual to join their Performance Engineering Team as a Senior Staff Software Engineer. The role focuses on ensuring the performance standards of their product base and includes designing performance-enhancing features, executing performance tests, and monitoring system performance over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and debug code to identify and fix performance issues.
• Analyze production workloads and system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks.
• Build proof of concepts and translate successful designs into solutions to maximize product performance.
• Maintain a platform that improves performance, resilience, and quality.
• Communicate and align strategy with engineering team members and make recommendations for improvement.
• Work with cross-functional teams across the organization.
• Engage in design and code reviews to ensure efficient solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in the software industry.
• Experience in architecting reliable distributed systems with an emphasis on high-volume data management.
• Expertise in building backend services and data systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java and databases.
• Familiarity with algorithms and data structures.
• Knowledge of observability tools like New Relic, Splunk, or DataDog is a plus.
• Performance engineering background and hands-on experience with cloud technologies is a plus.
