Senior Staff Systems Engineer, GTM @Fivetran

Overview

Fivetran is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to lead the engineering of their internal AI-powered application ecosystem. This role is vital for the development and governance of a code library that supports multiple internal AI-enabled web applications while collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the development and governance of a code library and agent rules for AI-enabled web applications.
• Design and implement scalable distributed data pipelines on the cloud.
• Develop, maintain, and test code while conducting design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with peers, product managers, and customer support to ensure high-quality, performant products.
• Identify and address challenges related to performance and scalability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and in the hiring process.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Ensure reliability and security in Fivetran’s data infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with expertise in developing reusable libraries and platforms.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud security concepts.
• Skills in writing well-structured and performant code.
• Ability to lead software and infrastructure design independently.
• Experience in programming with object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, C++, C#).
• Familiar with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with continuous integration tools like BuildKite.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as New Relic or Grafana is a plus.

Location
