Overview
The organisation is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Finance Officer to join its Country Office. This role is central to ensuring effective financial management of projects while maintaining compliance with donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Disseminating donor rules and financial guidelines to project teams and partners
- Supporting the preparation and regular updating of project spending plans
- Reviewing payment schedules and aligning them with project cash flow needs
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports in line with donor requirements
- Monitoring exchange rate applications and ensuring compliance with donor policies
- Reviewing monthly financial transactions to ensure accuracy and proper coding
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments through financial platforms
- Preparing Budget Versus Actual (BvA) reports with clear analysis
- Consolidating invoices and expense projections, identifying variances, and recommending adjustments
- Providing financial insights and analysis to programme teams
- Supporting partner organisations to strengthen internal controls and financial systems
- Sourcing quotations and analysing vendor proposals for procurement
- Maintaining and updating project asset registers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification (required)
- Experience in project financial management, preferably within an INGO environment
- Familiarity with procurement processes and financial compliance
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
- Experience using financial systems such as SUN, PSC, and Proactis
- Strong organisational and attention-to-detail capabilities
