Overview

One Earth is seeking a Social Media Associate to amplify its mission by creating, publishing, and managing engaging climate and nature-focused content across social platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Create and schedule posts on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, and BlueSky.
Adapt articles, graphics, videos, and campaigns into platform-specific formats.
Write clear, engaging captions that align with One Earth’s voice.
Monitor comments, messages, and mentions; respond or flag as needed.
Foster a positive, informed, and inclusive online community.
Track relevant climate, conservation, and biodiversity conversations.
Support content calendars and campaign rollouts.
Assist with asset organization, tagging, and basic optimization.
Collaborate with designers, writers, and program staff to ensure accuracy.
Track social media metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth).
Identify trends and opportunities for content improvement.
Support reporting and insights for campaigns.

Requirements

Required:

2–4 years’ experience managing or supporting social media for a nonprofit, brand, or mission-driven organization.
Strong writing and editing skills; attention to tone and clarity.
Familiarity with major social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social).
Basic analytics and performance metrics understanding.
Passion for climate, biodiversity, sustainability, regenerative agriculture, or environmental justice.

Preferred:

Experience with simple graphics and short-form video (Canva, Adobe, native tools).
Experience with content calendars or campaigns.
Familiarity with accessibility best practices (alt text, captions, inclusive language).
Comfort in front of the camera/mic as a face/voice of One Earth.
Experience creating culturally responsive and engaging content.
