Software Engineer @Fivetran

Overview

The role involves contributing to core services that drive data processing in data pipelines at Fivetran. As a Software Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain the central components needed for reliable and scalable data movement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement features and performance improvements for distributed data pipelines on the cloud.
• Develop, maintain, and test code.
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product.
• Understand and resolve performance and scalability challenges.
• Participate in on-call rotation and the hiring process.
• Mentor Junior developers.
• Ensure Fivetran is the most reliable and secure component of customer data infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong foundation in software engineering, including designing reusable libraries.
• Experience with distributed systems and writing performant code.
• Ability to lead software design to meet project requirements.
• Experience in code reviews, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Proficiency in an object-oriented/systems programming language like Java, C++, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Buildkite.

Location

This is a full-time hybrid position based out of the Oakland office, requiring two days in the office each week.
