Overview

The Software Engineer III role at Google is a mid-level engineering position within the Google Cloud division, focusing on building large-scale systems that power global digital services and artificial intelligence technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Write high-quality, efficient product and system-level code
Design and implement scalable software solutions
Contribute to full software development lifecycle activities
Participate in or lead technical design reviews
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to evaluate technologies
Provide technical guidance to improve system quality
Review code written by other engineers
Identify, analyze, and resolve system issues
Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
At least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field
Experience with data structures and algorithms (minimum 2 years preferred)
Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems and cloud environments
