    Overview

    The role of Specialist Solutions Architect - Data Engineering & Warehousing involves leading the advanced technical strategy for customers, focusing on complex architecture discussions and serving as a trusted advisor. This position is remote and is integral to positioning Databricks as the foundation of customers’ data and AI strategies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own the end-to-end technical strategy for accounts, from discovery through production deployment and consumption growth.
    • Lead complex architecture discussions, designing scalable, production-grade solutions across data engineering and real-time analytics.
    • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer architects, engineering leads, and Directors.
    • Drive technical wins by demonstrating Databricks’ differentiation through custom-built solutions.
    • Develop and declare an emerging technical specialization, becoming a go-to resource in that domain.
    • Orchestrate cross-functional resources to deliver comprehensive solutions for complex customer needs.
    • Provide structured feedback on customer requirements to influence product direction.

    Requirements

    • 6+ years in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
    • Deep hands-on experience with the Apache Spark™ ecosystem, message queues, and performance tuning.
    • Experience with data-driven use cases, predictive analytics pipelines, or customer analytics platforms.
    • Experience migrating EDW workloads and advanced query tuning.
    • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
    • Deep expertise in distributed data systems architecture.
    • Proficient on the Databricks Platform and ability to lead architecture discussions.
    • Experience with production deployments on public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • Excellent communication skills to translate complex architectures into business value.
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
    • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
